I first learned to sew when I was 10 years old, sitting with my dad while he worked on sewing machines. He’s the one who sparked my love for it, and I feel so grateful that I get to carry on something that started with him. Sewing has always been something I come back to — through school, through studying, through different seasons of life — making dresses, scrunchies and little bags along the way.
At the end of 2025, I got married and finished my teaching degree, and for the first time I had the space to ask myself, “What is something that really makes me excited?” Sewing was the easy answer.
Just before my wedding, my gran and I were watching a YouTube video of a young woman selling her handmade products. My gran looked at me and said, “You could do that.” The way she believed in me so naturally did something in my heart — it gave me the little push I didn’t know I needed. I haven’t stopped sewing since.
My business name, **taylor’d**, is a play on my name, Taylor — and the word “tailor.” To me, it represents creating things with intention and purpose.
When I’m making my bags, I’m always thinking about the person who will carry them. I want them to feel elegant, a little bit spoiled, and reminded that everyday life can still hold beautiful things. You don’t need a special occasion to deserve something lovely. 💐
